Belegi Workwear is our BEE status company which has a level 4 BEE rating. We are situated at 192 Zambezi Drive, Zambezi Sentrum, Sinoville, Pretoria.

Babelegi Workwear is situated in Babelegi, Temba which is in the north western province, (just after Hammanskraal, about 45 km north of Pretoria).

The materials we use are the J54 SABS (SANS) 100% cotton material, 50/50 polyester cotton, 65/35 poly cotton and the D59 100% SABS (SANS) cotton, we also use Flame Retardant (D59 material which is treated with a Pyrovatic Chemical) and Acid Resistant (50/50%) materials. We have built up a stable, ethical business relationship with the large institutions over the years. We have supplied specific garments, made to order for companies with specific requirements like City Councils, Mining Groups and BMW South Africa, just to mention a few.

Wilna Ryan and Danie van Niekerk (son) are the owners of Babelegi Workwear. Wilna started the company 25 years ago, since then the company has grown to a workforce of over 100 trained employees.

We are surrounded by an informal settlement where the unemployment rate is extremely high; there are very few opportunities available for the local people for proper employment or training.
We are committed to employ local people and to train them. Our workers are dependant on their work for the improvement on their quality of life. We take pride in taking care of our workers.

In-house training is done. When we started 25 years ago, most of the employees did not know what a sewing machine looked like, today they are trained workers supporting their families and contributing to the general well being of the community. We operate as a team.

Danie, Wilna’s Son, joined the company in 2004 and started his own company, Belegi workwear situated in 192 Zambezi drive, Sinoville, Pretoria. Danie manages his team at the Depot personally, ensuring that our customers get the best personal attention and service possible. In-house embroidery is done by the Depot.
